....a rather subjective statement. would a spiritually developed person likes buffet? I know of at least one pastor who love to eat, so much so that he's extremely overweight, or another pastor who enjoys Elvis music. The issue is really what such genres does to you.... a person can enjoy gaming if the gaming part doesn't grip the person.

I was also told by some old-fashioned christians (no offence here) that i should not play WOW, D&D and even Maple story (DUH!!!) listen to Eagles, Rolling stones, wear jade etc etc... cause they are all "Demonic" and of the devil!

These pple claim that i am opening up doors for the "Devil" to tempt me. I mean every single thing we blame Satan until he kena jialat jialat left right centre upside down.

Inconsistency.... that's the word I use on some church members and leaders.

I am one the few Christians who openly oppose the idea that Pokemon and Harry Potter are satanic.

I also played Hotel California to my SS class once..... to the disdain of some parents... ha ha....

Who is the pastor to judge what is satanic and what is not? If he cannot provide specific verses or phrases from the word of God that directly opposes online gaming, then who is he to judge what God has created for enjoyment?

To destroy all copies of video games...even educational ones? Ha ha ha.

Of all things he give sermon about this one. And never portray the message properly somemore. I sense that it is just his own beliefs and not that of the Almighty.

Think about it.

Compare US, normal guys and gals who play games like Maplestory and Gunz for fun and to kill time. Usually study for a while, then play for leisure.

And THEY, abnormal guys and gals who play games like Maplestory and Gunz for fun and to kill ALL their time. Usually do not study at all. and come back from school and play while neglecting eating and sleeping and studying.

Pity the pastor's kids. No life.

The pastor also declared that he know online gamers would probably disagree with him, but for their benefit, he ask them to think about what he say and pray for the guidiance of God.

He says that all that hours spent playing online games could have been used to do something useful like doing your work, praying to God etc etc.....

Actually I feel the principle is to love God first, then everything else will fall into place. One off physical acts without the heart will probably not lead anywhere, and worse perhaps reap legalism.

But the advice on online gaming is pratical, as is any advice on any other activity. If one finds he's spending a lot on time just on something that is simply 'fun' and little else... he might seriously need to think if his time is indeed being spent on things that matter. I don't find the huge amount of time I spend on the internet mindless or evil because it is highly fruitful for me, but indeed I do find that hours spend blasting people away might not be as fruitful as I though, simply gratifying and I don't think it's the way we ought to be living Neutral
